This filing block buffs my nails nicely. I use it to smooth the surface of my nails for a more even polish application. I especially like the 4 different levels of 'courseness.' That being said, it's a simple foam block with the 4 different sides glued on--one of them fell off during my second use of the product and I expect the rest to follow suit soon. Nothing a little super glue won't fix, but still--that shouldn't happen.
