It does seem to work well. But like any other eye lash curler, it's not easy to make pretty curled up eye lashes.

When I got this product, I was not impressed with its design at all. When I clamped it shut, the pad didn't meet the curler evenly unless I squeezed it really hard. The curler would touch the pad on one side, but it was a little off on the other. I can't even fix this because the pad is not the problem, it was just welded unevenly. The space between the pad and curler is also sparse and it takes me longer than usual to fit my eyelashes into it. I have to wiggle it around and make sure I get them all in there before I clamp it shut. The end result is definitely above average but definitely not the best, especially not for the money. I have purchased other, considerably cheaper eyelash curlers from drugstore.com that worked just as well, if not better! Basically what it comes down to is if I spend this much money on an eyelash curler, I want something to show for it! A cool design, or even better-- curled eyelashes.

I so disagree with the reviews on this eyelash curler. :( I found it to be extremely bulky and misshaped. It just didn't fit my eyes, and my eye shape is very common. I've also used lash curlers religiously for a lot of years. I'd love to find something good about it, as shu uemura has some excellent products...IMO, this isn't one of them. It doesn't open far enough to get all (or even most) of the lashes in the curler, and it ends up squashing and bending the remaining lashes. I tried it several times with the same thing happening because it's too big and bulky for my eyelids. It ended up in my garbage within a week. What a waste.

I have tried different eyelash curlers over the years and have found this to be the very best.

This eyelash curler was no different than the drugstore brands. Save your money!

I saw this eyelash curler from shu eumura offered here on Beauty.com and bought it thinking it would be very much like another curler I have used for many years. I have deep-set eyes and found that this shu eumura curler has a very distinct curve to it which made it impossible to get close enough to the roots of my eyelashes to get a good curl. Ladies, if you have deep-set eyes, this eyelash curler may not be the best choice.

This product is outstanding. I completely understand why it received such rave reviews. I've been using this 3-4 times a week, (I get lazy those other 4-3 days) and it's nothing short of miraculous. It helps curl my lashes and KEEPS THEM THERE! This is a problem for me, due to my eyelashes being the kind that shoot straight out and curl ever so slightly at the ends. Before and after looks completely different from one another. This feels sturdy and doesn't feel as though I'm going to break the curler if I grip too hard. No complaints really. If you're thinking about a new curler, going with this one shouldn't even raise question- just add to your cart already! You're paying for value of the product- we've all used cheap curlers before.

Like many women, I've used eye lash curlers from the drugstore for over ten years. I used to wonder why the outer corners of my eyes would be red after I was done with my make up until I realized that it was actually caused by my eye last curler. I had seen good reviews on other sites for this curler and decided to give it a try. What a difference! The shape of the shu uemura curler is contoured to my eyes where it doesn't press against my skin when I'm using it. It also curls closer to the lash line which gives me a more natural look. Though it is pricey and there are plenty of cheap alternatives, this curler is well worth it. I am very glad I made this purchase.

I used to only use drugstore eye lash curlers that always pulled on my skin or took some eyelashes with it until this! It curls perfectly, you just have to know where to place it or else your eyelashes bundle up and it's hard to apply mascara or straighten your lashes out. I do think it IS kind of pricey - I received it as a gift and would have never paid the[$]

I used Maybelline eyelash curlers for over 30 years and have found, as I get older and my eyelids are not as *smooth* as they used to be :-) that the Maybelline was not holding the curl, even with mascara. I had heard about the Shu Uemura curler and thought I'd give it a try. It works great. Very natural curl, not the kind that crimps your eyelashes straight up. You can also use it not only at the base of your lashes, but squeeze a bit on the lashes as you move outward toward the ends for even extra curl. I find it holds the curl for a while even without mascara, which I find amazing. With mascara (which you apply after curling), it works amazingly well. Open your eyes with this curler, you won't be disappointed! It's worth the extra money.
