I bought this to replace my old Sonicare unit that died way too soon for the price I paid for it. This one is definitely gentler, which may appeal to many people. It feels a little too gentle to me rather often, even on the higher speed setting. The shape of the brush heads is awkward and fairly large, making it difficult to get into the far-back area of the mouth, even without my wisdom teeth. A few others (at least one!) have mentioned that you can't "rinse the unit" which is untrue. It does tell you not to submerge the unit fully in water, but you can hold it upright under running water to rinse it, then dry it off thoroughly (all but the bristles, of course!) prior to setting it back in the charger. They do also recommend charging it for a ridiculously long period of time before initial use (something like 30 hours, if I recall correctly) but I used mine after charging it just overnight (maybe 12-16 hours) and have had no trouble with it after a couple of weeks of use. I would recommend buying a cap to put over the toothbrush head, though, as these do not come with them. I hate leaving a toothbrush head exposed to the bathroom air. Ugh.Bottom line is... If you want a Sonicare, spend the money on a Sonicare. If you want something that will give you a clean that is better than a manual toothbrush without dropping the cash on a Sonicare, this one will give you a far better clean than an old fashioned manual brush. Comments about Arm & Hammer SpinBrush Pro Clean Sonic Rechargeable Toothbrush, 1 ea: The brush is shaped > and works on the >front of the teeth. But not when it comes to the inside of the teeth, then you have > brush and < mouth. The instrument can NOT be rinsed under water, you must disconnect the head, rinse it off and then take a cloth to the instrument. Not worth the money, and you cannot buy a decent shaped replacement brush for this item. I wish I had put my money toward something to clean inside of my teeth. I will go back to the old brush, not sonic, that has a small round brush that gets to all of surfaces of the molars and incisors.

Comments about Arm & Hammer SpinBrush Pro Clean Sonic Rechargeable Toothbrush, 1 ea: Easier and cheaper than Sonicare to use and charge, plus being a best buy from Consumer reports. Comments about Arm & Hammer SpinBrush Pro Clean Sonic Rechargeable Toothbrush, 1 ea: I had my regular dental check-up and cleaning. Hygenist said was doing a great job brushing my teeth as I had very little plaque. I would say that is a good recommendation that this brush with twice daily use does a good job.
