Due to a deficiency, my doctor told me I should take 2000 units of D-3 per day; but no matter what form I used, it upset my stomach terribly. I tried Carlson's Super 2 Daily primarily because it contains 1600 units of vitamin D per daily dose (2 capsules). It also contains fish oil and Lutein, and the vitamin A is in the form of beta carotene, the safest form. I could hardly believe how much more energetic I felt as soon as I had taken these vitamins for a few days. I guess I really needed a good multivitamin/mineral supplement. Also, incredibly, there is no stomach upset or heartburn. So because I was looking for a rich source of vitamin D I stumbled upon this brand, and I am very glad I did. I am 60 years old, and I believe this product has many nutritional benefits for folks in my age group. This formula contains only a negligible amount of calcium (50 mg), which suits me fine as I prefer to get my calcium from food sources. The capsules are large, but I have been able to swallow them with little difficulty. I take them with lunch so they do not interfere with my morning dose of thyroid hormone.

I started taking these vitamins as directed 5- 6 years ago. I had tried so many brands and nothing ever seemed to make any difference. Then a woman at a local health food store recommended these. The difference is noticable from when I do take them and when I miss. I've given them to my mother who is 82 and my daughter who is 26 and they both are more energetic and heathier because of them. Also, the price here at drugstore.com is an excellent value!

If you take fish oil and multivitamins, you can't go wrong with taking only two pills instead of four from two separate sources. I don't understand the foul smell or taste complaints....I really can't taste them and I can only smell the fishy odor if I hold them right under my nose. If its hard on your stomach, take them at mealtime, like it says right on the bottle. And they actually pretty easy to swallow as well.

Had to discontinue use due to rancid odor. Many of the capsule broken when received and contents were foul smelling and caused gastric upset.

I purchased these for my husband who cannot take vitamin K. It had a good review from Consumer Labs. He complained about the odor immediately and has to scrub his hands after taking one. He found that a number of the capsules were broken and the contents is all over the place making everything stink. I can only assume that the fish oil contained in the capsules is rancid.
