When using this product
Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water.

THE STORY: About 4 months ago, I suddenly started seeing HUGE clumps of flakes of skin on my temple areas. It never happened to me before, so I was extremely worried.
BOTTOM LINE: I'm so happy that I took a chance on this shampoo, as it has improved the appearance and feel of my scalp by at least 60%. I still see some flaking, but nowhere near as much as I've seen in the past four months. I'm confident that T-Gel will help my scalp get back to normal. With every use, I find less and smaller flakes at my temples and my scalp doesn't itch anymore.
HELPFUL HINT: I'm a mixed race woman, so I was worried about how the shampoo would affect my hair. I washed my hair as directed on the bottle the first time, and had NOT ONE HUGE FLAKE the rest of the week. My only complaint is that it made my hair feel extremely dry and brittle. So the second time I used it, I washed my hair with T-Gel once and washed it again with Creme of Nature Detangling Shampoo afterwards. It made doing my hair much easier and I was able to complete my hair routine the way that I normally do afterwards.

I have psoriasis on the back bottom of my head, so I only tried this shampoo in that portion of my hair. I don't know really how it works as a shampoo, but I do know that it doesn't improve psoriasis. I think the bottle is a little misleading and it is probably better for dandruff. But, I wouldn't use it for that either because it doesn't smell good so I wouldn't want to use it on my whole head.

For a person with a Terribly Itchy Scalp, the shampoo and conditioner cannot be beat. True, it smells pretty bad, as it has coal tar in it, but that is what makes it so effective! The hair conditioner also has coal tar, but by the time you rinse it out, all you smell is clear hair. And the blessed relief from the Terribly Itchy Scalp!

I think this works pretty well but I had to throw it away because it smells so strong and so bad. Like really cheap and heavily applied men's cologne! The whole bathroom and your hair will smell like it for days. I am going back to a generic version of this that does not stink so much. Ugh!

My son had a continuous problem with dandruff. We used several over-the-counter products and some recommended by hair stylists only sold at salons. None were effective. His pediatrician recommended this product. It has TOTALLY resolved the problem. The smell is a little unusual, but it has grown on me and he never minded it at all.

Unless I'm experiencing a flare-up in my scalp psoriasis every-other-day use is sufficient. If a flare-up is underway, using it daily eventually takes care of it.
