The sponge side is not as strong/holds up without breaking apart. Washed a fork with it, and it took a chunk out of the sponge. Within a week, the sponge starts to smell moldy. At [$] for 3, I'll go back to the other type. Also, the scrubbing side is also on the "flimsy" side. I don't have a dishwasher where I can throw the sponge in and wash it with the dishes, so mine has to air dry. I like the other brand and it doesn't start to smell moldy for weeks. Compared to the other non-green brand, this one smells moldy after about a week, and is not as durable. I am amazed at how effective they are in cleaning both delicate and heavier items without scratching the surface. Of course there are a few jobs that require more toughness, where a regular Scotch-Brite or steel scouring pad works better—but those are few and far between.
