This was the least expensive VHF antenna I could find and for the money it seems great. There are two cons: 1. It won't mount on a typical threaded mount. 2. The connectors on the cable are fixed, so if you have to run it through the roof or a bulkhead, you either have to cut a fairly large hole or you have to cut off the connector and install a new one.

purchased this antenna to use on our Duckworth 20' aluminum jet boat for use when off shore fishing and crabbing. Antenna is well made and durable, with good low SWR and works well out to 10 miles.

Great Antenna, will cover 153-175 Mhz. Works great with marine radios and 2 Meter radios that fall within these frequencies. Cost about half at Drugstore.com!
