I have receding gums and the exposed root surfaces stain much worse than the regular tooth area. I have tried every toothpaste imaginable and bleaching and nothing has worked until now. Regular cleanings by my dentist used to be torture because exposed root surfaces are also more sensitive. I started using this toothpaste after having my scheduled cleaning and no stains have occurred since then. I'm not normally particular about toothpaste so I wasn't to hesitant to buy this. The reviews for whitening were great & I'm a daily coffee drinker so I thought I'd give it a try. After using the product for 2 days (2x a day - morning & evening) I noticed that my teeth were very sensitive & painful - even when not eating/drinking. I can't say that it doesn't do the job of whitening because I haven't used it enough to notice. I didn't experience any peeling, cancer sores, or other complaints people have of whitening toothpastes; but the sensitivity is unbearable for me.

Cool mint is not so strong that it burns your gums. It removes tea/coffee stains and foams in around your teeth. It is our favorite. Would like to have a larger tube.

I use this toothpaste in combo with the 5 min whitening gel with my whitening trays I got from my dentist. I always get compliments on how white my teeth are. If you don't have whitening trays (don't get them, they are expensive) you can just go to a sports store and buy two cheap mouth gaurds, follow the directions and mold them to your mouth. I whiten my teeth in the shower, so I can spit, because you don't wanna swallow the gel. It is also nice because then you actually are not spending much more time, out of your day, to whiten your teeth. :)
