My veterinarian suggested L-Lysine for my cats who have a herpes virus causing drippy eyes & upper respiratory inflammation. They have been symptom-free since I started giving L-Lysine to them over a year ago. I open the capsules easily and sprinkle it in their canned cat food. They don't seem to mind the taste. The capsules are a lot easier to use than the tablets I use to have to force down their throats or crush to put in their food.

This works great for my cats. Who's vet recommended I sprinkle this on their food. Especially for my Persian who had leaky eyes and nose...and it has been working wonders. I have 3 cats, so this makes it easy, just open the capsule and sprinkle a little on their wet food mix it up and they don't seem to mind. It's Amino Acids so helps them and their immune systems.

Definitely way better than trying to swallow those enormous uncoated tablets! But if you're a pansy like me who has trouble swallowing most pills, even the capsules sort of float around in my mouth before I can actually get it down! that being said, it definitely is easier than the pill, and I do notice that when I take this regularly, at least mentally I feel like Im protecting myself from a dastardly cold sore, and I have noticed less recurrence.

I buy this to prevent recurrence of the feline viral rhinotrachitis. Opening the capsules and putting it into food is so much easier than grinding it up and it is more palatable for my cats and less expensive than veterinary preparations.
