I bought this specifically for my female cat, who is 15 years old and suffers w/UTIs. I sprinkle it into her food and mix it well and she takes it with no problem. It has helped and I will continue using cranberry capsules. I also give some to my male cat as well - can't hurt...

My sister introduced me to the benefits of cranberry capsules years ago. I was experiencing chronic kidney infections which were very painful. Taking antibiotics just didn't work well, especially after a bad allergy reaction to one; so I began taking cranberry capsules in the same way I took the antibiotics. The frequency of the infections diminished and eventually I found that just by taking a couple of capsules when I suspected an infection beginning was enough to avoid any onset. I haven't had a full blown infection in over a decade. Taking the capsules is far more effective than drinking cranberry juice which usually contains sugar and other juices.

Cranberry supplements are a great alternative to running to the doctor or the medicine chest for every small ache and discomfort. I find using cranberry this way at the first inkling of bladder/urinary distress usually ends the problem. I take it 2 or 3 pills about 3 times a day for the first couple of days, then taper off to 1 or 2 (same frequency), then just 1 once or twice a day. That's what works for me. The pills are a little large, but a good choice considering their contents (very natural).
Take 2 capsules three times daily with a full 8-ounce glass of water. For intensive use: Take 4 capsules three times daily. For maximum effectiveness, drink 6-8 glasses of water or other liquids each day.
