Product has a natural, pleasant minimal scent; and no artificial chemicals in its smell; if you have chemical sensitivities, this is the perfect shampoo for you. For those with scalp issues, psoriasis or ecxema, it is also perfect; gentle, soothing to the scalp, & it leaves the hair clean, smooth and soft. Use over time also helps with less flaking, probably due to the fact that you're not putting a lot of chemicals on your scalp and hair, and also to the pH balance of it.

Though it lathers more than many non-sulfate shampoos, don't expect it to lather like a regular shampoo; it won't. Once you get used to the minimal lather, you'll be able to judge the amount to use better; it cleans as well as any lathering shampoo, without the harshness.

One note. The shampoo is too thick, especially in a cool bathroom, for the pumps to work. The shampoo is almost solid, so the pumps are basically useless. Don't let this discourage you from using this great shampoo; an easy fix is to transfer it into clear catsup squirters- this is easy and convenient and saves you from always having to unscrew the pump and trying to bang out the product.

An excellent product, certainly worth this little bit of inconvenience!!

My hair is unprocessed, grey, short, and I use no "products". I wash my hair every day. It lathers, smells great (but does not linger), rinses easily, and cleans well. I find some sort of conditioner is a must...I rub coconut oil on my hands then thru my hair after it is dry. Product is thick, and sometimes hard to pump out (I have the 33.8 oz size)so I just add a bit of water and shake...problem solved. Have used this product for 3 years and like it very much.

My hair is not the usual type and i was finding that the medication i am using has lead to a dry scalp and dry hair. I was pointed to using non-sulfate shampoo and argan oil as a way to improve my hair health. This shampoo does a great job for my hair but you mileage may vary.

This is the best shampoo ever. It is difficult to find a good, affordable shampoo that is also cruelty free. Drugstore.com was out of stock for too long and my hair suffered greatly. Upon restart of this product I got compliments on my hair everywhere I went. Please keep this stocked, drugstore.com!

I agree that this shampoo is far too clarifying, even for my thick chest-length hair. It cleans very well, but makes my hair feel like wet straw, and is not a good shampoo for dyed hair. It strips the colour right out. Not only that, the product tends to thicken and separate, and becomes difficult to pump out, so I have to constantly jiggle and shake it about till it mixes again. This isn't a bad shampoo, but needs to be used sparingly or it really dries out your hair. Either use it infrequently or dilute it with water or some other solution.

I wanted to like this product, however, within days of first use, I noticed that it irritated my scalp. I went on to experiment with both the conditioner and the shampoo of this brand. Some days I would use one product or the other, and some days I would use different products entirely.

On all the days when I used either the DermOrganic shampoo or conditioner, my scalp and the skin on my neck got extremely itchy and irritated looking.
It was sort of a contact dermatitis thing going on, which would resolve as soon as I would switch off to a different product.

This is a bit too clarifying for my fine, thin, stick straight hair to use daily. So I use it weekly as a clarifying shampoo and it works well for that, especially with the DermOrganic conditioner...I love that and use it daily no matter what shampoo I use. I love the scent of this. It smells clean and fresh...like the Canus Goats Milk lotion if you know what that smells like.

I have thin hair, but a lot of it. It's naturally wavy. This product lets me do whatever I want to my hair - leave natural or blow it straight. I love it. My sister loves it, too.

I was looking for a gentle shampoo that would not irritate my scalp as I had developed some scalp psoriasis. I have used this shampoo now for 6 months and it has not irritated my scalp at all, in fact all my scalp psoriasis has now cleared up. It has a wonderful smell and feels luxuriously thick and creamy when massaging into the scalp. Nothing else will now do!
