I've been using this for the past 15+ years, however, only when I feel stressed, traveling or when others around me get the flu. I haven't gotten sick & I recover from surgeries within days. I NEVER use the amount suggested (1 heaping tablespoon). I think it's too strong. I only use a level teaspoon when I feel I need it. Never more. Tastes & smells bad, but mixed with yogurt it's bearable.
