Could hardly get any hair in this without the clip pooping out, much less enough to fashion an updo. Maybe it would work on super fine thin hair, but then I'd think it would overwhelm. Not sure how other reviewers managed it.

I do have thin hair and product works great for me. I keep one in the shower: use on wet hair, dry hair and go-anywhere hair. Strangers have stopped me because they think I have something very sophisticated in my hair. The natural colors can blend in well with hair for a dressier look, but I wish they would come up with fun colors, too. I saw them one time for kids, but now even the small ones are only black and brown.

I originally found these in a local store but when I went back for more they were gone. I absolutely LOVE these barrettes. They are easy to put on and take off. They don't get caught up in my hair. The best thing about them is that they don't cause breakage. I am 67 and losing hair is a problem. I've had hair to my waist for over 20 years. I've used LOTS of barrettes but I like these the best because they do absolutely no damage.

I use this barrette almost every day to put my hair up. I have thick, wavy hair that goes a little past shoulder length. I usually twist my hair (like I am making a bun) and pin the ends with this barrette. It is not fancy-looking but it is attractive enough that I am comfortable wearing it to work. I also love that it is flexible. If you put your head back, it does not hurt; I have even fallen asleep with it on. Definitely a go-to hair accessory for me.

Good design but this was too big to hold my hair effectively. Just have to keep experimenting to see how I can use it.

I have a hard time finding barrettes that will hold my long, thick, wavy hair. My career requires me to wear my hair pinned up with a barrette that matches my hair color. This one does the job. I hope Goody isn't discontinuing it!
