I've used several Oral-B/Braun electric toothbrush models during the last six years. My personal six-year-old model just died after six years of twice-a-day use. I can't blame the toothbrush for biting (no pun intended) the dust recently. It also fell off the bathroom sink to the floor at least twice.
I'm surprised by the great improvement in these toothbrushes between my old model and my new 3000. I love the new 30-second quadrant alerts (the old one just had a two-minute alert) that let you know when each fourth of your mouth has been brushed for a sufficient amount of time, the too much pressure alert red light that appears if you press too firmly while brushing, and the battery charge indicator in the handle.
The charging base can be removed from the brush head holder for easy cleaning and travel. I almost bought the 4000 to receive the newly designed charger base that is like a donut with a hole in the bottom, so gunk doesn't deposit on the charger. The 4000 also comes with a travel case that would be nice to have. I decided I couldn't justify the increased cost of these and other cool bells and whistles that are packaged with the 4000. The 3000 suits my needs just fine.
The 3000 is also quite a bit more powerful than my former toothbrush. I can understand why some people may want to use the "sensitive" power setting while they are getting used to this cleaning machine. The 3000 also has a daily cleaning power setting (that's the one I use) and a tooth polishing power setting (that I am anxious to try after I purchase a polishing brush head).
My teeth always felt clean after brushing with my old Oral-B/Braun toothbrush, but they feel EXTRA SQUEAKY CLEAN now with the 3000.
This is a great product that can be had at a reasonable price if you catch it during sales and promotions.

While this product cleans teeth well, it has a very annoyiing flashing red light close to the eyes that is very bright. Don't buy if you are sensitive to this. I called them about this and they said they had had no other complaints. I was then told to put duct tape over the light. I called again and they finally agreed to return my money if I sent it back. The 1000 is the only model does not have this feature. Do not buy this if you or your child are prone to seizures or migraine.

I love this!!!! The first time that I used this, my teeth were so clean that I thought I might cut my tongue on the back of them. You would have thought that I had just gotten a deep professional cleaning at the dentist's office. Would seriously recommend this to anyone and everyone.

It's so easy to actually brush teeth for the recommended time. I never do it long enough with a regular brush. My dentist says my teeth look great. My lat one lasted about 15 years.

My old Oral B no longer holds a charge, so this will replace it. Battery life: Manufacturer states 7 day battery life & let the battery completely drain before recharging to prolong its life. The brush heads are small, easy to reach all areas of your mouth. Ordered the Pro White heads to see if they are better than the standard as reviewers had positive words about them. Worth every dollar as they last for years.

I use this daily. Harsh on the gums slightly, so I need to be gentle when using on or near my gums. Other than that, I highly recommend this. Not sure if my teeth are getting whiter but definitely feel clean.

PRO: Very easy to follow the timer so you can brush each quarter the appropriate amount of time. Gentle, but very effective.
CON: My previous model shut off with just one push of the button. This one takes a couple of pushes as it switches between fast and slow brushing.

I had a predecessor of this toothbrush, and it lasted for 7 years, which is great. I therefore decided to stick with the same brand (also because I had several new replacement brushheads that fit this brand). I use the regular cycle; and I understand the gentle cycle. I can't figure out the whitening cycle (which is why I purchased this model instead of the cheaper one). How the whitening cycle works is not explained in the instructions; and it seems to switch between regular and gentle. A prior reviewer complained about the flashing red light. That light flashes to signal ONLY when you brush too hard. If a user is really sensitive to the flash, and can't stop brushing too hard, I suggest closing their eyes. The light rarely flashes for me, and when it does I hardly notice it.
