USE IF YOU HAVE OILY SKIN ONLY! Those with dry skin will be IRRITATED by this product... when I was using benzoyl peroxide my skin got REALLY dry and patchy for awhile - and at that time ANY moisturizer irritated my breakouts and skin, making both more red and sting. However, I currently have very oily skin with breakouts as well - and this is only my second time trying this but so far it seems like a good alternative to my clean and clear one which I felt might have caused or contributed to clogged pores... anyway long story short this DOES NOT BURN ME. That isn't to say it may not burn anyone with oily skin, but just test it on your inner arm if you are worried and hopefully you too can reap the benefits of a much more natural, less synthetic moisturizer like this one :)

This product helped my "tight dry" areas or spots on my face without making them greasy. It dried quickly and matte, and didn't at all irritate my SENSITIVE SKIN. I've used supposedly soothing yes-to-cucumbers facial wipes before, for instance, and had a very adverse reaction with red, irritated, angry skin... but this for some reason (after reading a few reviews on this product creating very red, itchy skin) has left my skin smooth, soothed, and moisturized. There must be some ingredient in this that affects some people - and possibly acts as an allergen for their skin type. It seems to me this moisturizer is like birth control: different effects and reactions for each person.

I have been searching for a daily regimen (face wash / toner / moisturizer) for a very, very long time. I have incredibly sensitive skin and am super sensitive to chemicals and fragrances (natural or otherwise). I have tried so many different product lines but I think I have finally found the one. Thank you Desert Essence! Not to mention, it's so affordable for such a quality product!

I had a terrible reaction to this face cream. Within minutes of application my skin felt tight and then I was overcome by a burning/itchy feeling. When I looked in the mirror, my skin was bright red. The pain, itchy and redness lasted for approximately two hours after application.

I contacted the company and they explained that they were aware that the product had caused irritation for some people.

Moral of the story, natural doesn't always mean safe or gentle.

I like this product but don't love it. I am looking for a natural product to use on my face.. My only complaint is it seems to leave a light film like feeling over my skin. It isn't drying or tight but just doesn't blend in as soft as I need it too. It does work and moisturize my skin. I did not have any negative effects from use. I do like that it is so natural and I am allergic to gluten so this is a good choice. You get a lot for your money. Right now I am using less to see is that makes a difference. It mat be that this is meant to leave a matt coverage. But, I have dry skin so that is not my need. I am a middle aged adult with dry skin. I have also used on my body with more luck and for the price I can. I do like California Baby cream as opposed to this as it is better for my dry skin.

I actually purchased this for my mom (52) and we both ended up loving it. It's nice, smooth, and absorbs nicely. It's perfect for the winter dryness and daily use. I use it whenever I wash up but don't plan on going outside since I won't need sunblock then. It has a light earthy scent to it that I find calming. :) Great price for so much natural wonder.

I didn't experience any of the problems mentioned in the negative reviews. I love the ingredients and I love the price. I'm really glad it doesn't have an overpowering, cloying smell. I usually don't buy moisturizer with any oil ingredients but this has very little, doesn't feel greasy and has never made me break out. I use several of their products and I believe they are a viable alternative to higher priced products

This moisturizer is very good for daytime under makeup since it has a mattifying effect and a non-shiny, dry finish. However, I don't feel like its moisturizing my face at all. When I rub it in, it gets drier and drier, and then it's impossible to spread at some point. Very interesting. I don't think I will repurchase; it's not bad, but I know better face moisturizers are out there.

If more than a few people say this burns your face, you should listen to them. I bought this because my skin got really dry in the winter and it was getting flaky. This sounded like a really good non greasy moisturizer for dry skin based off of the reviews. The reviews also told of many instances of this burning peoples faces. I ignored this because i thought my skin wasn't that sesensitive. I was wrong. This stuff moisturizes but also totally burns your face, stings, causes redness. I actually tried it twice to make sure. Yep, cant use this on my face. Its fine on my body, but something in it is reacting to my facial skin and it seems like its happening to alot of people.
