I eat one after lunch and another after dinner. Don't double up on them; your body can't absorb that much calcium at a time. Two of them equals 100% of your daily requirement of calcium and D. Since your body can't utilize calcium without vitamin D, this is a great way to get both in the required amount. Also this is a good way to fight osteoporosis. And it's a chewy chocolate!

I am a long time user of Viactiv and have been taking the Chocolate Calcium D Soft Chews for many years. I loved them, they worked great...but I guess that has all changed. Buyers now need to beware that the consistency of the "new and improved" version may possibly surprise you. They are now about 1/3 smaller than the original size, and my guess is that the reason they are smaller is that they decided to use less chocolate, which in my opinion, will result in the demise of this product. So unlike what your use too, now when you put the "Chews" in you mouth, they will literally dissolve in much the same consistency and manner you would get when you put a teaspoon of raw cookie dough in your mouth. I personally don't like raw cookie dough, but for those who do, this is what you'll get. I might add that you might also notice a type of clinical aftertaste as you swallow the chew juice, much like what you get when swallowing an aspirin. Also the other problem with the "new formula" is that it is so soft, that it tends to stick to the wrapper, which makes removing the wrapper rather difficult and almost impossible if the "Chews" are exposed to the sun or where the temperature of a purse, pocket, or kitchen cabinet might warms them up in anyway. And here is the kicker...I don't see anything on the label or packaging that alerts the consumer to expect something different, or that the product is "new" or "improved". So as an advocate of the old formula, just thought you would like to know what you could now expect to get. You might want to first try a small size container to see if it's to your liking. But here again, since the labels do not differentiate the "original soft chew" from the "cookie dough chew" that that will melt in the wrapper and leave this nauseating after taste, you may not know what you got till after you bought it. So I recommend you only buy this product from a supplier that will allow you to return the item or a least will give you an in store credit if you need to. So here is where I Thanks Drugstore.com for helping me facilitate the return of this product. The one true bright side I can say in all of this.

I have been using this for some time now because most calcium pills are rather large to swallow. I love the flavors that it comes in and how easy it is to chew and to travel with.
