Turns off automatically when finger is removed. Display set...Read complete review I use this meter occasionally to check blood oxygenation level. It is easy to use. Push button and insert finger. Then read display. Turns off automatically when finger is removed. Display set up for right hand fingers. Display is upside down if use a left hand finger. However the display orientation is easy to change. Simply push the top button a second time and the display orientation changes to right side up. One disadvantage: You are supposed to be motionless when you are using this unit so you have to stop running or whatever to use it. It is easy to read under any lighting conditions and the display had four modes, two lanscape and two portrait making it easy to read regardless of which hand and finger you are using. In addition it responds quickly. It automatically turns off a few seconds after you take your finger out so you can't forget to turn it off.
