I recently had a Colostomy and my stomach is seriously scarred plus the colostomy bag is hanging there and it was recommended to me to use IVORY SOAP in the shower because it doesn't have perfumes and other chemical that could upset an stoma. It is a pure and safe soap to use on scar tissues and bath with in shower when newly operated on.

Have been using this soap for years, but just found out that it was infused with oxygen, and that's what makes it float. Very impressive. This will be my soap for life.

I find that this is an excellent bar soap to get your hands really clean, but for just a quick wash I use a moisturizing hand soap. Ivory is also good for washing fine lingerie as there are no harsh or perfumy odors. I've found that it also worked for removing lightly soiled areas on my carpet. It's my go-to soap to remove stains before trying harsh chemicals. I also keep a bar in the kitchen as a supplement to my pump hand wash, or in emergencies when I run out of dish washing liquid.

Although it's an excellent hand cleanser,it's too drying for my face and I use a specialty face wash. However, for those who have oily skin, and are prone to breakouts, I imagine it would be excellent.

I got tired of feeling like bar soap was leaving oil or lotion on my skin so I went back to Ivory after about a dozen years and I don't think I'm ever switching again. It cleans well, even my face and make-up, the fragrance is mild and doesn't interfere with my lotion or perfume, and my skin never feels dry or tight, but it does feel extremely clean. I wish it made just a tiny bit more lather but that's negligible. If you've never tried it then you definitely should.

Feeling a bit nastolgic I wanted to try it after all these years.
The reason it's sill around after all these years is because it's still clean, fresh, no frills and does the job well at a very reasonable price. It lathers and rinses well with a very slight scent of soap and doesn't dry my skin.
