The label "Super R-Lipoic Acid" as used here, is a deceptive ploy to mask the actual amount of effective R-Lipoic Acid received in each dose! The front label implies a dosage of 300 mg per serving, but read the ingredient label to find that each capsule only contains 210 mg of the R-Lipoic Acid you are paying for. Evidently, "Super R-Lipoic Acid" is Life Extension's name for the Stabilized NA-RALA (Sodium R-Alpha Lipoate) of which the active R-Lipoic Acid is only a part. Shame on you, Life Extension! Let the buyer beware!
For a product with more honest labeling, check out Doctors Best Stabilized R-Lipoic Acid. On the front of their bottle, the serving size is 100 mg per capsule. This is matched by the ingredient label, showing that you are receiving 100 mg per capsule of R-Lipoic Acid from 143mg of Sodium R-Alpha Lipoate. The amount of active ingredient stated on the front label is what you get. Good for you, Doctor's Best!
Both will be equally effective at approximately equal doses, but which would you expect to cost the least per dose? Life Extension provides 12600 total mg of actual R-Lipoic Acid per bottle (60 doses at 210 mg each), and not the 18000 total mg you might expect from the front label. Doctor's Best does provide 18000 total mg of R-Lipoic Acid per bottle (180 doses at 100 mg each), but normally at a higher price per bottle. As of this writing (at current sale pricing here on each product), Life Extension actually costs almost 9.4% more per mg of active R-Lipoic Acid than Doctor's Best. Since prices may vary, do the math yourself to be sure which is best for you, but my guess is that you will benefit by going with the product that offers the most honest labeling.

I've used this for a couple years to keep blood sugar in check and it's become a must-have. I've tried a couple other brands but find this dosage to be the most convenient and effective.
Take 1 to 2 capsules daily as tolerated, or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner. Take capsules at the same time, preferably on an empty stomach.
