This was recommended to me years ago by my accupuncturist. This is great cough syrup. The whole family uses it. There is an adult version and a child's version, although I have used them interchangeably. (I would check with a health pro for really little kids because it is honey-based.) I have used it on my 2 year old grandchildren with great success. It tastes good and it really works, and it works quickly! I think it is more gentle to use a homeopathic than other types of cough syrup...especially since the results are so fast and it has no side-effects.

Oh my gosh, this stuff is pure sugar in the form of an extremely thick, heavy syrup (it's like real honey). I have many reservations about giving this to my 3-year old (especially every 2 hours!). I neither want him to ingest that much sugar or honey, nor have a thick syrupy film rotting his teeth (at age 3, we don't exactly get the most thorough tooth brushing all the time - even if I could get him to do it every two hours)! I'm surprised that this isn't an issue for anyone. I would much prefer something less sugary!

Had a really nasty flu virus lasting about a week. This stuff seemed to minimize the coughing some, but by no means was a miracle. At first it didnt seem to do anything, but the 2nd day I used it I noticed improvement. Not sure if I was just getting better on my own or if it was due to the Chestal. But it does taste great ...

This is the best for getting rid of that annoying, dry cough that you get at night. You know the one that when you're almost asleep, you wake up coughing because your throat feels super dry and scratchy whenever you breathe in. The taste is great, too. Whenever I have sinus drainage accompanied with a cough, my stomach gets easily upset with most cough syrups. However, the honey in this one actually calms my stomach.

This stuff actually seems to work. I always use natural products for my kids to avoid the chemicals and food coloring, but am never sure if they really work. My daughter had been coughing A LOT for about 3 days, but 5 minutes after I gave her the Chestal, I didn't hear a thing. She coughs now and again, but it seems to have cut the coughing down by 80-90%. I also gave her Zand Kids Insure.

I love this stuff! I don't understand how it works because it just tastes like straight honey. I regularly got bronchitis and when I feel like I'm about to start, I take some of this and it minimizes my cough to almost nothing. I was really surprised it worked. I haven't tried it yet in a full blown illness, but I've used this and the cold stuff by Boiron to fight off getting sick and here I am -- I haven't been sick in 2 years!! I still can't believe it. I used to get sick all the time, so I take the Boiron products at the first sign of sickness and I'm good to go!

You know that annoying, dry cough that seems to hit just as you're falling asleep? Yes, that one...the one that keeps waking you up each time you manage to drift off. Or the one that comes when you're sitting in an audience that you can't stifle and have to walk out? That's the kind of cough that Chestal works best for. I've given it to my children in the middle of the night, and they almost instantly stop coughing and are able to go back to sleep. Chestal cough syrup tastes like watered-down honey, and is very pleasant. When I tell my children they'll need cough medicine, they're all relieved when I reach for this bottle instead of what they refer to as "yucky-tasting" medicine.
