Simple. A filter that really works well. I use them with those single brew dealies that sit on the mugs and it works great. I imagine it would work equally well for a single cup coffee machine.

Melitta coffee filters are strong; they don't fall apart like some cheap brands. I like the brown unbleached filters because I put them in the compost pile.

when cofee is finish brewing, the filter is not soggy when removed. This is a plus for the taste and clean-up
