On those sites that rate "curl" with 1 being straight and 4 being crazy curly my hair is a between a 2 and a 2.5 not outrageously curly -- the kind of hair that has curl when wet but a challenge to keep that curl after a night's sleep. In the past, I had to get in the shower and run conditioner through my hair every other day or else I hair that just look messy and kind of frizzy on the ends. I even broke down and tried Ouidad products -- the most expensive curly hair products out there created by the most widely touted curly hair expert. A small bottle of styling lotion to define the curl and give it some staying power is $25.00 !!! My hair was flat, frizzy, hard as a rock, lifeless, and when I woke up in the morning absolutely no curl just messy matted hard hair with frizzy ends. I washed my hair Sunday and ran Tossle Me through my damp hair with a little extra scrunched on the lower half. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning I woke up with still curly hair but I decided to scrunch a little more on the ends of MY BONE DRY HAIR to refresh and encourage even more curl. This is the first time I have been able to do this on dry hair - I have ALWAYS had to dampen my hair before to have any success at refreshing the curl. Today, 4 days since shampooing, my hair is still a mass of lovely curls and ringlets everywhere and my husband loves the smell of my hair. I have NEVER had curl last for 4 straight days. You can BARELY tell I have something in my hair - no way would I call it hard or crunchy. For anyone with any curl in their hair I highly recommend this to encourage your curls and to give them staying power. But, I found it again and was disappointed that it didn't work for my hair, so I went out and bought all of the other tousle me softly products (shampoo, conditioner & spray gel) except for the finishing cream. I was very excited to try it again, and I went home, shampooed and conditioned, tried the spray gel, nothing. Then I washed my hair and tried the mousse, nothing, except harder than before. My hair became like straw. I am so disappointed with this product! I want it to work for my hair so much, but it doesn't. I am considering cutting my hair shorter for better results, but I don't know what to do. Some people on the reviews said to put the mousse in your hair, and but it in a bun over night. I did so and got even worse hair than my natural texture! I am so disappointed, and I am going to cut my hair shoulder length, and if that doesn't work, I will be very upset with Herbal Essences and probably wont buy their products again. (However, I do love the scent! Now if only it would work in my hair!!!!) Also, the hairspray made my hair impossible to brush, that's how crusty and hard it was! I don't want to bash this product, because I want it to work on my hair so badly, but I just want to warn people before they waste money, if you have medium thick, naturally curly, long hair (just around the chest length) this is probably not for you, and you shouldn't waste your time, or your money. But I do love the packaging and the quality of the products, but the performance is not good for me :( I will try again, and I hope it works when I get my hair cut... It controls frizz and makes my hair shiny and smooth, while enhancing the natural curl. It does not make my hair sticky or crunchy like the other products. In between washings I can comb my hair out with a wide tooth comb and spritz with plain water to " reactivate" the product while gently scrunching the curl back in.

Also, my hair isn't as frizzy when I have it in. At times I will let my hair go natural and it'll just get frizzy. So I recommend this product! Also, I have it in a bob with a lot of choppy layers and I like to make them look messy. I do blow dry my hair, because otherwise it just looks frizzy and flat, and was sick of how much poof other mousses gave it because I really just need something for easy styling. This was marvelous, all my layers are going in different directions and it would make a great "beachy wave" mousse. I do have naturally wavy hair that gets straightened from blow drying, so the fact that I didn't have to worry about it going pin straight or fluffing up was amazing. From the Herbal Essences line, this scent is probably one of my least favorites. It's too strong and flowery. The product leaves my hair super soft, but it weighs hair down. I don't know, I wasn't very satisfied with this product.

I was excited when they had things just for curly hair. I usually use totally twisted but I decided to use tousle me softly to see if it helps calm my hair. It just looked the same as always. I switched back to totally twisted. It is a pretty good product overall, however, It was disappointing to notice that it has the exact same ingredients as tousle me softly. After dispensing more mousse then I needed, I tried turning the can over to reattach the button - and all it did was let the aerosol out. Now I have liquid mousse - a filled container - and no useable product. The one time it did work I did like the product a lot!
