I was so excited to buy this natural product for my husband. (He has a dermatological scalp condition.) I noticed it going unused. I have dandruff/flaky itchy scalp, so I figured I'd give it a try. The pine tar oil smell was just unbearable. I knew it wasn't going to smell great, but the bad odor really stuck with my long, thick hair. Maybe it won't bother a gentleman as much as a lady. However, my husband's main gripe was that he found it ineffective. I cannot speak to that. It seemed to offer me some relief after one use. But unfortunatley the smell was so offensive, I cannot speak to the product's long-term effectiveness. A shame that nearly a whole bottle sits unused.

I purchased this for my son who has psoriasis on his scalp. We had tried many other shampoos and soaps, but nothing was working. This clears up the flakes and helps with the itching. We think it's just fanstastic. The smell is strong, but not unpleasant.

I really liked this product for my hair, which can get flaky. It made my hair feel moisturized after just shampooing it and I ALWAYS use conditioner. I still did use conditioner, but less, and it didn't make my hair feel like straw after rinsing. I never had a problem with flakes. Also, you only need to use very little of this product.The only con would be the smell, which was somewhat medicinal, but it disappeared after my hair dried. I'm still testing out products, such as t+ therapeutic shampoo from [@] and Nature's Gate Tea Tree Shampoo. I like Grandpa's the best so far. The other two give me that straw hair effect.

This shampoo is great. I have very dry scalp after getting my hair cut very short. We have very hot dry summers here in Arizona. I use it daily,no more itching which was driving me crazy all day/night. Nothing else worked. I love this shampoo. It smells great,has a lil pinetar smell while using. No odor after rinsing. Highly Recommend.
