I started using this product after Clearasil caused me terrible acne. I bought this product with the blue packaging like the others. This stuff is AMAZINGGG (My skin looks really good) but VERY drying if used too often. I started off using this twice a day, and this product left my skin extremely dry! the dry areas started peeling off and burning. I would highly recommend buying a good moisturizer, I use Simple "Nourishing 24HR DAY/NIGHT cream" and it works grate. Also start off using this product ONCE every night, lightly rub the product on acne infected areas. And as you wash it off, wash the rest of your face. This method has worked for me.

I have combination skin, and was looking for an acne solution that wouldn't dry me out too much, so I chose Panoxyl 4%. Well, this did dry me out a little, but not excessively, so in that respect I am satisfied. However, ever since I started using this wash I seem to be getting MORE acne! I would consider my acne on the mild side to start with, so this is really a bummer. Would not recommend.
My chin and around the mouth area have been flaking since I started using this, I don't get that clean face feeling either, just a dry flaky skin. i broke out out.

I've been using proactiv for about 10 years now and had very, very clear skin. The last year and a half I noticed it stopped working and I kept getting those under the skin pimples all over my face. I started trying different cleansers and with in a week they would make my face break out terribly and it would become extremely itchy. Someone recommended this to me and said it used to be a prescription so I thought it has to work since doctors use it. So far Panoxyl has made my skin very soft and gotten rid of the under the skin pimples. It is kind of drying for only being 4%, but nothing I can't handle. I also use coconut oil which is a natural way to help dry skin. I hope I can continue to use this product!
Have used for over 10yrs to treat reaccuring bacterial infections of the skin pores or adult acne.Prescribed initially by dermotologist at about $50 bucks a tube.Has seemed to be the magic bullet if used at least once daily.Glad it's over the counter now!
This used to be my holy grail when it came to my acne. But, ever since it came back, the bottle is a slight bit different (doesn't say "4" in big letter) and the formula is EXTREMELY different. This broke my face out so bad I had to go see a dermatologist--hadn't seen one in YEARS! DO NOT USE THIS STUFF--you will be sorry~!!!!
I use daily in shower for back and chest and it is keeping the acne in at bay. My dermatologist originally prescribed 6% version but that is only available as Rx. This 4% version is much easier to get and works almost as well. Get good coverage and is not too drying for my sensitive skin.

Apply acne wash and gently massage area for 1-2 minutes.
Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
Because excessive drying of the skin may occur, start with 1 application daily, then gradually increase to 2 or 3 times daily if needed or as directed by doctor.
If going outside, use a sunscreen. If irritation or sensitivity develops, discontinue use of both products and consult a doctor.
