I met Sam Fine at a makeup show and asked what mascara he recommends and he said this one. That was five years ago and it's still my fav. It doesn't flake, perfectly separates lashes so I don't even need a comb, the formula is so fluid that my lashes don't clump together and I have to run the brush over and over until they separate, the waterproof formula does not run yet is easy to remove with basic eye makeup remover.
My other favorites are loreal in the fat gold tube because it makes my wimpy lashes look huge and fake which I love! But it flakes so much that I'd only use it if I was going to be photographed. So I never use it ;)
My other fav is Cover Girl in the orange tube because it is as great as this Loreal except its impossible to remove. I could only get it off with expensive eye makeup remover so I realized it makes more sense to spend $2 more on Loreal than waste $15 more on remover.
Recently I bought a maybelline (magenta tube for volume) the formula is so thick that I have to fuss so much with the wand and then a metal comb to separate my lashes or else they clump like spikes. I hate wasting $$ but it's going in the trash as soon as my drugstore.com order arrives.
So that's why I think this is the most perfect mascara and I'll never switch.

I'm on the hunt for mascara that doesn't leave me with taratula eyes. This product isn't it. I'll keep looking.

When I use waterproof mascara, I want it to stay on until I take it off. Unfortunately this one doesn't. It's a good, long wearing mascara. It gives my lashes volume but if I forget I am wearing makeup and rub my eyes, it starts to flake off. It doesn't have the staying power I want from a waterproof mascara. It is also difficult to remove.

Overall great mascara: doesn't clump, goes on evenly, and makes my lashes look great (especially when used with an eyelash curler).

I use waterproof mascara all the time because after I curl my eyelashes, when I use regular formula mascara, my eyelashes fall. I like this mascara because it volumizes, lengthens, separates and keeps my lashes up and pretty all day and it's not too difficult to remove (with eye makeup remover).

I have been using L'Oreal Voluminous mascara for years as my go-to mascara. The last time I was at the store I decided to try the waterproof mascara instead of the regular mascara. I never thought that the regular mascara had a problem when it came in contact with water, but I decided to try the waterproof anyway. The waterproof mascara is the same as the regular when you're wearing it, but it has become a huge pain to remove. When I remove it with makeup-removal wipes it turns into little black specks, and I spend extra time searching my face for little specks. I also have to work hard to remove it from my eyelashes, which has resulted in pulling some of my eyelashes out. I would recommend you get the regular kind if available.

Absolutely LOVE this mascara; have used it for years, and I continue to receive compliments- from both men and women- telling me that I have beautiful eyes and beautiful lashes! This is the ONLY mascara that I will purchase!

I love this stuff. I keep trying other brands thinking I might find something magically better, but I keep coming back. If you remove excess product from the brush on the side of the cannister first, spread your eyelashes as you apply (i.e., don't just slap it on), and brush out any clumps immediately (I like using a sample mascara brush from any make-up counter), this mascara allows for great definition. Especially after two coats, the voume and length it adds are respectable. I find that this is one of the few brands (out of 20+ I've tried over the years) that doesn't straighten my lashes after I've curled them--it's like hairspray for your lashes. Even the non-waterproof version of this product doesn't do that. Of course, because it's waterproof, it's harder to remove. I can get 90% off with make-up remover (right now, I'm using Neutrogena, but I'm not in love with it), and the next morning I wipe the remainder off from under my eyes with a towel (no problems with the residue coming out in the wash).
