I started taking a B-Complex on the advice of my doctor to treat geographic tongue. This is a condition wherein the tongue swells, peels and if very painful. The peeling areas are often outlined in red and give the tongue a map-like appearance - hence the name "geographic tongue". This is a painful condition not well understood. It appears it may be triggered by steroid or antibiotic use. I began having this problem after taking oral steroids for asthma. It was often misdiagnosed as thrush. I suffered with this for about 15 years. It would flare up off and on several times a year and last from a few days to months at a time. Once I had a flare up that lasted 10 straight months!. After starting the NatureMade B-Complex I have not had a break out in nearly three years except for early this year when I was out and and on a cruise could not take for about 7 days. After being off of the pills for about 7 days, my tongue swelled and broke out and was extremely sore. It felt like I had severly scalded my whole tongue. However, within a few days of restarting the B-Complex, the geographic tongue cleared up. I have not noticed any bad taste as some say and the smell is mild. I usually take at night with supper. If you have problems with your tongue, please try this. I know I suffered for years without a diagnosis or any help before finding a doctor who could give me some answers.

I use this daily and have for several years now mostly because I don't eat meat and think I need to supplement my diet with a product such as this. Does not taste or smell good but I just drink a lot of water with it and that rinses the taste out of my mouth. It also has folic acid.
