A lightweight moisturizer with salicylic acid and natural ingredients. Absorbs nicely into skin; does not leave sticky or filmy residue. I have seen improvement in my complexion since using this (however, I have also made radical changes to my diet and lifestyle over the last year). I have exceptionally oily skin (I live in warm, humid tropical climate zone), so I can't say the oil control claims are very effective for me; my skin becomes oily within an hour of applying. Also, I don't care for the smell.. it has a medicinal smell; it isn't overly pungent, and the smell dissipates quickly. Also causes very slight burning sensation upon application, and slight reddening of skin, but this also dissipates quickly (my husband asked once if I was drunk because my face looked flush lol!). This may not be a strong enough moisturizer for those who live in dryer or colder climate, but for me it's fine. A regular staple in my daily skin care routine.

I mix this with another moisturizer at night and also sometimes add organic castor oil too, because I need more moisturization because I have aging dry skin, everytime I use it, for night. My skin feels so smooth and healthy, the salicylic acid is a high percentage. I think this helps with anti-aging, at a low price and is natural. I also mix with another lotion and apply it to body as well.
I also got some of the other Acnedote products and they work really well also. They all have a refreshing clean scent to them.

I'm in my mid fifties and was looking for something with saylic acid to fade dark spots and even skin tone. This is the ticket! I bought some for my daughter and now she is a die hard fan also!

This makes me oilier than not using anything at all! Terrible.

I use face sunscreen on a daily basis, so I like to have a mattifying primer underneath to keep me from getting shiny. This stuff made me oilier than not using any primer at all. It was horrible! I was having to touch up with powder all day long.

It also has a strange smell. I got used to it after a couple of days, but it's weird.

It didn't make me break out, but I'm not sure it made my few zits any better.

Save your money.

Helps to keep acne at bay but it is very runny and certainly feels oily on my skin. Will probably not buy again after I use it.

I purchased this on a whim because I was running out of my usual lotion and happened to pass by it in the beauty isle. In addition, recently my face has been very oily near the end of the day and I prefer NOT to use powder. I have worn this twice now on hot summer days and it worked. It didn't keep oil at bay all day but my face wasn't greasy either. The formula is lighweight and blended in easy. Unlike some oil control products I've tried before this one did not make my face appear chalky. Since this works well and was 1/2 the price of the product I had been using I will definitely purchase it again!

I've recently started using Alba products. I am mid 30's and have had problem skin since I hit 30. My t zone is very oily, cheeks are dry and my chin is constantly breaking out in cystic acne. While I haven't noticed a difference in the acne (And I'm not sure there's anything out there that will make a difference) the over all quality of my skin is much better. It looks more healthy and feels smoother.

Is this a hard core oil control lotion? Eh, probably not. But you're also not paying four or five times as much for it. For me it helps control the oil while still leaving my dry areas moisturized. By the end of the day my forehead is starting to feel oily again but the rest of my face is good. Not sure how it does under make up as I don't tend to wear any. I like that it has the S. Acid in it as well to help with other break outs. Overall I think it's a great product for the price point. You might find better out there, but you're going to be paying a lot more for it.

Makes my sensitive skin sting and sting. I love the other products in this line (wash, scrub and treatment gel) but this definitely falls short. My skin doesn't even feel very moisturized and as the other reviewer mentioned the matte finish does not hold up -- especially in the summer heat.
