These are a great way to get a dog that is sick of taking pills to swallow one and like it. For awhile, our beagle would either refuse the pill pocket or eat the exterior and leave the pill on the floor. The trick is to not touch the outside of the pill pocket with the hand that held the medication. Because our dog, a senior dog with ongoing medical issues, had figured out that these had pills inside, I learned to have an additional treat ready to hand him as soon as he accepted the pill pocket. That way he was focusing on his greed for that second snack and forgot to tear the pill pocket apart and fish the pill out of it. This has been working well for two years now.

By the way, our vet sells the same product for ten bucks.

Best pill pockets for a dog with allergies. A bit smelly but my Golden LOVES these and will only take his meds if they are hidden in these pill pockets so I buy these bags by the dozen. Highly recommend these to any dog owner with a finicky dog.

Our favorite was the beef pill pockets. The new hickory has too many yucky ingredients and so we've had to switch to this one, but be prepared that it stinks so badly.

My 16 y.o. Jack Russell is very tough to give pills to. In addition, he has alot of allergies. The Roasted Duck and Pea flavor helps with both of these. I'm able to get him to take the pills and the pillpocket ingredients don't aggravate his food allergies. Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is the strong unpleasant smell. It gets on your hands and your have to wash them immediately after handling these pill pockets. Dogs don't mind it at all though, in fact I think they like the smell!

This is the only flavor that both my dog and cat like. Since they both have to take pills daily, I keep a supply of this flavor on hand at all times. As other reviewers have mentioned, the smell is horrible. My dog and cat don't seem to mind though.

My dog has severe allergies. He absolutely loves these Hypoallergenic pill pockets. They are easy to use. For those that conplain about the smell. It takes less than a minute to give a dog a pill in it. Dogs LOVE stinky things. True dog lovers don't mind that smell for all of 45 seconds. And it really isn't that bad. I do whatever it takes for my dog, and the smell is the least of my worries if it works. My dog is 16 1/2 now and doing great partially due to this product.
