While I love the regular black shade of this mascara, the carbon black is terrible. I could hardly tell I was even wearing mascara, it left black smudges under my eyes after a few hours, and it was difficult to remove with soap and water. Don't try this shade! Get the regular black!

I tried a different mascara wand to see if that was the problem but it was still clumpy. This leads me to believe the formula is bad as well as the wand/brush head. I usually like l'oreal products but this I don't recomend.

I am a big fan of the regular Voluminous Carbon Black--the intensity of it really can't be beat--and when I saw this "million lashes" version I assumed it would be similar except give me a little more length (my only issue with the regular Voluminous is that it doesn't really lengthen). It doesn't give me the rich black color of the regular Carbon Black, nor the volume, and didn't lengthen my lashes in the slightest. Taking it back tonight.

I am really surprised by the negative reviews. I absolutely love this mascara, and keep purchasing it over and over. I have very long full lashes to begin with, so my biggest concern is with clumping, flaking, and separation. I have yet to find a real flaw with this product. The brush and "no clump" bottle are awesome. The perfect amount is always on the brush, and the bottle or brush never get clumpy or messy around the opening. I think it also keeps the mascara fresher, and prevents it from drying out in the tube. It separates my lashes better than anything I've tried, and the carbon color is VERY black, doesn't fade, rarely flakes, and stays put all day - no raccoon eyes. The best part is, it washes off better than most, without having to scrub, tug, or use special eye makeup remover. Rinses clean off with just my L'Oreal Youth Code cleanser. Seems insignificant, but when its late and I'm tired, the last thing I want to do is sit at the sink trying to get all my mascara off. In my opinion it is worth a try, despite some negative reviews.

HONESTLY, I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED. I ALREADY HAD PLENTY OF MASCARA BUT WENT AHEAD AND PURCHASED BASED ON HYPE. IT REALLY DOES NOT PERFORM ANY BETTER THAN THE CHEAPEST OF MASCARAS. I CERTAINLY WILL NOT REPURCHASE IT.

I have long, thick (dense), blonde eyelashes. It is hard to find a mascara that covers my lashes without clumping them together or missing spots and making me look like a clown. By and far this is the BEST mascara I have found to date (though lash stylist makes a close 2nd). I can put on one coat for day wear or 2 coats for night wear, and it always looks great!

I bought this to really enhance my lashes. Now I have nice length lashes and wanted a product to and volume with a tad more length. This did not add a single lash worth of volume. No length either. Color went on well, but doesn't last. After a few hours it faded and flaked. Barely anything left to remove in the evening.

Very Disappointed!

If you have short, straight and sparse lashes like me, you best go somewhere else. This mascara doesnt work very well because you cant really do much after the first coat. If you try to put another coat, it will get really spidery, clumpy and your lasehse start to stick together. I think it noticably darkens your lashes but doenst give much volume. It might work for those who naturally have long, thick lashes or maybe with false lashes.

This made my eyelashes beautiful. Unfortunately it immediately began to flake. It doesn't matter how beautiful your eyelashes look if there are flakes all around your eyes.

In my never-ending search for the Holy Grail of mascaras, this one is my new drugstore fave. Buildable length and volume, not wet or gloppy, doesn't irritate my contacts, no flaking or smudging. Makes my barely there lashes pop. Maybe not the Holy Grail, but a pretty decent mascara, overall.
