My kids have seasonal allergies and i prefer to give them benedryl at bedtime to reduce the congestion for them at night. Zyrtec and Claritin has never really worked well enough for them to stay on it daily, so i just use the benedryl in the evenings when they are especially congested. they usually wake up without congestion.
