I have a cough related to post nasal drip and a dry throat. It bothers me the most when I wake up at night coughing. I have found this to be, by far, the most effective solution. I pop one of these in my mouth and it helps clear the phloem and still the cough & I can go back to sleep easily. What a relief to find these. The reasons these are best are that they contain the maximum amount of simple ingredients, menthol & benzocaine. And they have no sugar. So I don't worry as much about having them in my mouth, soaking my teeth! The flavor is nice. It can't cover up the medicinal ingredients, but I'm not sure if I want that anyway. The benzocaine helps tame that scratchy sore spot in my throat that often induces the coughing spasms. These are an elegant & simple solution to a problem I worked on for years with my allergist to no avail! I highly recommend this product. My daughter cannot tolerate dextromathoraphane (SP?) so these are the best cough drops for her as well!
I keep this at my bedside for when I wake up coughing. For me, this is usually caused by phloem from allergies. I can't find any better way to calm my throat & cough that allows me to drift back to sleep.
One of the best parts is that they are sugar free & are an effective dose of simple ingredients so I don't worry about using them as frequently as I need to. My dentist was very pleased they are sugar free & had no concerns I was using them. Also, they don't contain Dextromethorphan so my daughter who reacts poorly to that ingredient can use them as well. Just benzocaine & menthol.
