I have owned this product before, and after multiple dishwasher cleansings, it had to be replaced. It seems like they have made it more durable this time, but I still won't put it in the dishwasher as it recommends. What happens is that it begins to leak out of the bottom after at least 20-30 washes in the dishwasher. it's not hard to clean by hand and I would urge you to do the same. No matter what, this is the best tea steeping contraption I have ever used, NO LEAVES GET IN THE CUP! And you can steep for as long as you like for stronger or lighter tea. Excellent item, I loved it so much I bought it again.

This is great as it keeps the water/tea hot while I do other things and I can see just how stong it is as opposed to letting the steeping occur in a cup when I can't tell the strength until I taste it.

This is easy to use and brews a wonderful tea. We are going to buy 2 more as soon as my check goes into the bank.
