I have been looking for these filters for months. Use to buy them in the grocery store. I was elated to find them here and very reasonably priced. Keeps the grounds, etc. out of your coffee makers for camping over the fire or stove. I horse camp with a pretty large group. We put our delicious coffee in air pots after brewing so its very important not to have grounds pump up into the air pots stems. Extremely happy with this product.

I bought these elsewhere, and am glad to see they are sold here now. I have the Medelco 8 cup glass stove top percolator, and the flat filters allow too many grounds to get in to my coffee. These are the best for my percolator. First you slip the center hole over the stem and press out the filter over the basket. Then I put my grounds in, and put the four outer holes over the stem. I feel like I am closing up a diaper. :) It goes quickly once you get used to it, and it is great for clean up, too.

At first I thought this filter was overkill, but I have changed my mind over time. My new stove-top percolator did not allow the coffee grounds to enter the pot even without a filter. I just switched over to perc'd coffee, because the new coffee machines keep breaking down. I realize now that they are just a bunch of hype and that you can make SUPER coffee in a percolator on a gas stove. But I don't like the cleanup much--the grounds stick to the basket and are not good for my drains, even though they do stay put during the perc itself. So I have used the standard number 2 melitta filter--just cut a hole for the basket stem. However, I noticed that the coffee tastes better using these wrap around filters. Maybe it is the thin paper. You have to be careful not to tear it. But cleanup is fabulous--you lift and throw it into the compost heap. No grounds escaping as with the number 2 filter. If you don't mind a little bit of coffee ritual and have the time, try these filters.

The manufacturer is well known for quality products however this is not one. When my super expensive coffee maker got taken out by an electrical storm I decided to resurect an older percolator pot that I loved. The coffee is wonderful but the filers are not. They were a huge overkill for the purpose it is intended. I came back and ordered the flat coffee filers and cut them down, folded them & cut the tip to form the hole for my coffee holder basket. Works like a charm. I have no idea while these little envelopes were developed. Had I understood what they were I would not have gotten them. Percolators don't need little envelopes.
