This is not labeled on the comb as "HARD RUBBER".
I find the teeth are sharper and not a durable.
Disappointed that a old reliable product has been "cheapened".

Not the same as the old one with "Ace" in the center, but still more substantial than any other I have found. Wish they had left the best alone!

I decided to replace my old hair comb. Purchased same exact brand/type, however the quality now is terrible!! Ace's combs use to have a rubber-like finish, now it is harsh cheap plastic. The teeth of the comb are not smooth and they scratch the scalp badly when brushing hair. Completely useless product. I'm really glad that I didn't throw out the old one.

I bought these same combs some time before the end of 2006, before I moved. Meijer had them for .50 each, because they were getting rid of them. I still have 2 open and one in the package. These have the same SKU # 13114 61686, but it is not the same. Mine has ACE in gold in the middle of the comb. Where you hold, the old ones are thicker. When you hold combs up in the air with the white wall in the back, the old ones look more black, the new look more white. The new ones have thinner teeth, or they are farther apart, and they are sharper. My son wanted my old one, because the teeth were softer. The ends of the teeth seem rounder on the old ones. The new aren't as sharp as most, though. I kept my old ones and gave my son a new one. :) I have past my waist hair and have used these for years. Just like everything else, the new is not as good as the good ol' stuff. But these are still better than hard, sharp, breakable plastic. The new do not feel like soft rubber like the old, but not like hard plastic either. I bought 6 and will use until they break, get lost, or the rest of my hair falls out.

I tried to find this particular comb at several different stores and even went into a beauty supply shop without success. These combs stand up to being kept in pants pockets with items tough on them, such as car keyes. I like to keep a couple of spares in my dresser drawer, as well as one in my vehicles. These are the best pocket combs available, and have been for years.[...]

Durable Hard Rubber Fine Tooth Pocket Combs are impossible to find at [...] and other stores that should be carrying them. Mostly they offer little plastic combs that inevitably break while carrying them in one's back pocket, although they are available at cheap prices ... which is to say 'you get that for which you pay'!

Thin and Brittle. It broke almost immediately in my back pocket. Definately NOT a pocket comb.
