Clinically proven to remove excess oil and control shine
Calming formula won't over-dry skin
This gentle foaming cleanser is clinically proven to effectively remove excess oil, impurities and make-up that can clog pores and lead to breakouts. Gentle enough for everyday use.

I liked it. Think I understand why this is a good product, more costly, but a better value. Biggest complaints I've heard (or experienced) is that the Cetaphil liquid really didn't lather. Rub-rub-rub your face raw and the satisfaction that the suds are washing away the grime ain't happening. This foam wash only takes about 6 squirts for my face and neck and it's super-foamy. I don't aggravate my skin by over-rubbing and I think I use less with the foaming mechanism. Less time washing, and it makes a good base lather for a shave in the shower.
I'm happy.

I have only been using this product for a few days, and I will not continue to use it. I am disappointed with the overwhelming smell of this product. If you are sensitive to smells, steer clear, as this product gives me a headache. The smell stays around too.
The foam was nice as it spread easily requiring less product. It also allowed for a more gentle washing spending less time rubbing (irritating) your face and allows for you to gently glide your fingers over your skin and still remove make-up and oil. This product did not leave my skin feeling tight or feeling like a film was left on it, but it did dry my face out a little more than I would have liked to see.
Did not give the product enough time to see if it caused me to break out or to see any oil controlling effects.
3 stars because I think others could benefit from it and the concept is a great idea and the actual foam is nice. Just not the ingredients.

This face wash contains chemical ingredients that target oil skin in a bad way, the ingredients on the cetaphl face wash are actually proven to cause more inflammation on oily skin, Hydroginated foods causes acne, so why would I want to put that on my face, everybody go on google and type oil clogging ingredients.

I have been using it for the past 4 days. I can say that it actually does what it say it does! I have noticed my few pimples are drying up and not flaky. My skin is not as oily as it use to be before trying this product out. I am eager to see how my skin looks after a month of using this product. Though the smell is overbearing at times, but it wears off after while. Another thing, you may like it once out the shower- it does have a fresh-clean scent. I would've given it 5 stars if it wasnt for the scent. But other thatn that- its a winner to me!

Comments about Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Foam Wash, 8 oz:
I have mild acne and have had it for most of my life. This was recommended by my dermatologist after I received an allergic reaction/Eczema-like breakout on my face after using another product (you can find my review for it on the Beauty.com side of this website). It has worked out for me great! It's super gentle but I do feel it working on my skin. You do have to pump it quite a few times to get an adequate amount of product to use on your face but the bottle still lasts a while (I would say more than 90 days [using it twice a day]). I feel that it has helped decrease my breakouts. As I said, I do and have always had mild acne; as such, I do still have some skin imperfections (white heads, blackheads, etc) but I don't get those bigger,cyst-like blemishes. THis product has a great price (even when not on sale) and cleanses my skin very well. I also like the tightening feeling I get after washing, All in all, a solid product! I would definitely recommend to anyone with the same skin.
Comments about Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Foam Wash, 8 oz:
My acne prone teens use this morning and night. Our dermatologist recommended this product. The cleanser comes out foamy from the bottle. This is easier to apply all over the face evenly. Make sure to soap up face for at least 30 seconds before rinsing thoroughly for best results. The results were the same if not better than more "active" or "clear" products (and more economical too) for my kids. The price is very good at this site. Do not try to substitute the cleanser with another brand/cheaper item. You will not get the same results.
Comments about Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Foam Wash, 8 oz:
Leaves you feeling clean but not "squeaky clean" or dried out. Right balance of clean and moisturized. Very gentle, actually recommended by my dermatologist. It has a fragrance that I LOVE, not a medicine-y smell. So if you are looking for fragrance-free, this is not for you. Directions: pump pump, rub it all over your face and neck, then rinse. Super easy! Better than department store cleansers or medicated formulas.
Also a great value, as it lasts a LONG time. I think I've used it once daily for 5 months now and am still not close to the bottom. 2 pumps a day will do it!

I have very oily skin and I try many products for my face. I have been using the Cetaphil Dermacontrol wash and moisturizer for 2 weeks. I saw results right away and I am extremely pleased with the results. The product controls my oil, and my blemishes have cleared. I love that it has only 2 quick steps!! My skin has cleared so well that I have not put on foundation in 2 weeks since I have no acne or red spots to hide since using the Cetaphil!!! Easy to use, smells good! I dont know what's in that foam but it is magic to me!

Comments about Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Foam Wash, 8 oz:
This product is an effective cleanser, but its strong perfumey odor was very unpleasant. Also, it didn't control oil, especially when combined with the Cetaphil oil-control moisturizer. In fact, it seemed to make matters worse.
Comments about Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Foam Wash, 8 oz:
I finally found the perfect cleanser. I have had on and off pretty bad acne for quite some time. I was very unsuccessful in finding a cleanser that will get rid of my facial oil, dry up acne and heal it. I found it. My dermotologist gave me a sample of this to try out and I did. And I love it. I am going to invest in a larger bottle.
I pump it 1-2 times and massage it all over my face. Then I wash it off with water, barely letting my hand contact my face (to avoid irritation). It has been doing wonders.
– Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Foam Wash has been clinically proven to wash away excess oil, impurities, and makeup. This foam wash is specially designed for acne-prone skin, but is gentle enough for anyone to use. It eliminates oil and impurities without stripping away skin cells or causing excess drying.
Unique Ingredients
Most acne washes contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. These products are all outstanding oil fighters and have anti-bacterial properties as well, but they can also lead to excess drying of the skin. The trouble with dry skin is that it can actually encourage the body to produce the very oils that the acne wash is supposed to clear away, potentially increasing the chances of acne breakouts.
Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Foam is very different from other acne washes. It contains no salicylic acid and no benzoyl peroxide. It is strictly a face wash, designed to remove excess oil, but not all oil. This is important because some oil is essential for keeping skin supple and healthy. The main ingredient, a unique formulation of zinc, removes surface oil and reduces shine while leaving the oil layers that are necessary for skin health.
Recommended Uses
Because Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Foam is formulated to avoid drying the skin, it can be used every day or even several times per day. It is designed to meet the needs of individuals with oily, acne-prone skin, but anyone can use this gentle product. Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Foam is one of the few face washes designed for acne-prone skin that can also be used by individuals with sensitive complexions.
