Many shampoos have phased out sodium lauryl (and laureth) sulfate, because it's of questionable safety, so if I shouldn't use it on my hair I certainly don't want it in my mouth! Tom's of Maine does have SLS-free toothpastes, but those are also flouride-free. I'd rather they eliminate just the SLS.

This toothpaste has a very mild flavor, is made of all natural ingredients and is free of the sugar which is often added by mainstream toothpaste brands. I highly recommend it.

I use this toothpaste or the cinamint flavor everyday. I love the taste of it it does not have artificial sweetner or other things that taste bad. Great flavor and cleans teeth well. I really can not find anything I do not like about it.

I've been using Tom's of Maine toothpaste for at least 20 years. I can't use anything else. Leave a nice fresh feeling in your mouth. Not as sickening sweet as common-brand toothpastes. The only think I don't like about Tom's is that they sold out to Colgate-Palmolive a few years ago and you can't buy direct anymore - have to go through a middleman. (no offense, drugstore.com)

This is a great alternative to all those peppermint and spearmint toothpastes out there...what's up with that? Most mints are to "strong" for my taste, this Wintermint is perfect.

I have tried other flavors of Tom's but Wintermint is the only one I use. Spearmint and Peppermint are both too strong for me. It is a perfect cross between a baking soda toothpaste and a regular toothpaste with lots of sucrose.

I absolutely HATE toothpaste. I don't want something sweet or minty in my mouth. The closest thing I can find to an acceptable taste is Tom's Wintermint. I've used Tom's toothpaste for 25 years and my dental hygienist is amazed that I haven't had more dental trouble over the years. The only complaint I have is that since Tom's was bought by P&G I can't find very many products in local stores. However, I can order what I need at drugstore.com, so I guess that is what I'll do from now on.
