Doesn't seem to do anything nor does it taste very good. I attribute this to the lack of alcohol, as these faults seem to be common among the alcohol-free kind. I guess that for me, "the burn says it's working" is true.

During my last dentist visit, I had a cavity developing and my dentist recommended this particular rinse to keep it at bay. I had already been using it on occasion and that's why I think I only had 1 cavity versus 6 the time before that. Now I use it every night after I floss and brush. You're only supposed to use it once a day, before you go to sleep because you can't eat or drink anything for half an hour after. You also rinse for a full minute versus the 30 seconds most other mouthwashes recommend. But the minute isn't painful at all because this one doesn't have any alcohol. It's primarily a fluoride rinse to keep teeth strong, but it's got a sweet minty flavor for your breath. If you're looking for that really clean fresh feeling from certain mouthwash commercials, this isn't it. I think there is another Act fluoride rinse that does have some alcohol in it for that burning feeling if you like it.

Adults and children 6 years of age and older:

Use once a day after brushing your teeth with a toothpaste.
Remove cap.
Hold bottle upright and squeeze. Fill to fill line.
Pour out. Only the correct dose (10ml) will come out.
Vigorously swish 10 milliliters of rinse between your teeth for 1 minute and then spit out.
Do not swallow the rinse.
Do not eat or drink for 30 minutes after rinsing.
Instruct children under 12 years of age in good rinsing habits (to minimize swallowing).
Supervise children as necessary until capable of using without supervision.

Children under 6 years of age: Consult a dentist or doctor.
