I usually use Dove non-aerosol extra hold or the aerosol flexible hold, but neither was in stock at my drugstore, so I thought I'd give this new hairspray a try. Although I've had good luck with most Dove products, this one needs to go back to the drawing board. It's ironic that it markets "shine" since it actually dulls my hair. In spite of the buildup, it doesn't do a particularly good job controlling frizz, either. I'll hold out for the non-aerosol extra hold version next time.

I have used this hairspray for a few years. It is consistent, won't damage your hair. But I don't use it everyday so not sure how that might work. Scent is light, not overpowering. Decent hold. Washes out easily. For bangs, spray it, then use your fingers to push hair where you want it. Then it will dry and hold.

I used Dove - Non-Aerosol Hairspray, Extra Hold for years and loved it's lightweight hold and scent. Being discontinued I tried Dove Style&care. Total disappointment. Leaves a solid crispy plastic dull film over my fine hair. Horrible product! DOVE: PLEASE RETURN TO YOUR PREVIOUS VERSION OF NON-AEROSOL HAIRSPRAY!

Smells great. I have lots of medium-weight, wavy hair. I use this if I blow-dry my hair straight. Pump spray goes on in big droplets, not a mist, so you get too much in places & not enough in others. Great hold & frizz-protection in humidity, but I cannot even get my fingers through my hair, even if I go gently & slowly a little at a time. Cannot brush it out at end of day without a lot of breakage. You will have to wash this out if you don't want to damage your hair.

My hair is fine and foiled. It is just above my shoulders in a wedge cut. I love this spray because I can use a tiny bit on certain spots that keeps my hair in a controlled style that appears loose.

I live in Florida where the humidity is the biggest enemy of hairstyles. I did not like this product because it is very drying, causes my color to fade quickly, and it is very sticky/heavy. You cannot run your fingers through your hair or comb it out easily. I also found that it sprayed out in thick droplets, not a fine mist. Even though it could hold my style in the worst Florida humidity, I don't feel that it's worth it. If my hair is no longer healthy, then I won't keep using it.
Hold bottle 8-10 inches from hair before spraying. To shape your style, use on slightly damp hair. To finish and hold your style, spray evenly all over hair. If dispenser clogs, rinse in warm water.
For best results, begin with Dove® shampoo and conditioner.
