I picked this up when I was trying to find a substitute for my usual toothbrush. Just as a frame of reference, I like ergonomically-shaped toothbrushes and usually buy Reach, used to buy Crest and Colgate at various points, and generally haven't liked Oral B. I've been buying Butlerweave floss for the last couple of years, but I hadn't tried Butler GUM toothbrushes in ages.
The handle is comfortable to hold and maneuverable. Some toothbrushes add padding, etc. but still keep the handle ramrod-straight. This is angled enough that I don't have trouble cleaning my back teeth. Plus, the barrel makes it easier to shift your grip and reminds me of some of my ergonomic pens.
The bristles are soft, yet clean well and are reasonably durable. It was actually a surprise at first--it felt much softer than my previous toothbrush (also labeled "Soft"), but my teeth were really clean afterwards! Also, the bunches of bristles aren't widely spaced out like they are on some of the more gimmicky toothbrushes, so they don't get prematurely splayed out from my reaching back to clean around my molars and wisdom teeth. I do wish that the brush head was a bit shorter.
Finally, the price is great compared to some of the bigger-name brand toothbrushes I've tried in the past, and it comes in a 2-pack besides. All in all, I'm definitely buying more of these.

I'm prone to getting canker sores because of chronic sinus infections associated with allergies.
Sometimes an abrasive toothbrush bristle is all it takes to cause a canker sore to erupt. This toothbrush is very gentle on my gums yet effective in getting my teeth clean. My sister, who's a dental hygienist, gave me this toothbrush. When I needed a new one, I couldn't find it in stores so I tried other "ultra soft" toothbrushes (Oral B, and Colgate). Nothing came close to being as soft as the GUM brand. I guess I'll have to keep buying these online.

I have gum recession and gum problems in general. This toothbrush really goes deep and keeps my gums healthy. After 8 months of use, my hygienist said my gum pockets were tighter than ever and my plaque level was greatly reduced. I brush 3 times per day.

I LOVE this toothbrush! I received a G.U.M. toothbrush from my dentist a few years ago. I loved it! But they are kind of hard to find in stores. I will always go out of my way to buy this brand. The handle is very ergonomic (I have small hands) and the bristles are very gentle yet effective.

I LOVE this toothbrush! The search for this toothbrush is how I discovered drugstore.com! I bought a big box of them. This brush is the perfect balance of soft, supple bristles and resistance.
