When it says adjustable flow, it doesn't mean you can go from slow to fast flow. It's made for milk thickened with rice or oatmeal cereal. If the milk is too thin it will cause the baby to choke. Once we figured out that you can only use these nipples with thick milk we fell in love with them. I wish the description told that.

I wish I had discovered these earlier with my first son. They eliminate the need for buying the medium to fast flow nipples. This time around, I am only buying the #1 nipples and the variable nipples as the variable nipples function as #2, #3 and #4 nipples. My first son was a preemie and although I nursed him, he had no problem going between breast and bottle; we had no issues with colic, spilling, etc. I do recommend using the AVENT bottle sterilizer as I didn't trust the dishwasher to clean bottles until my son was about a year old. It fits these bottles perfectly.

Since I found these nipples, I only use AVENT for my son. You can add a little baby cereal to the bottle and the baby can finish it just fine. Or better yet, when they don't finish off their pureed baby food... put the rest in with their milk; the nipple allows a thicker liquid to flow through just fine. You're not wasting food and the baby is getting what he needs as far as fruits, veggies, and oatmeal (fiber).

This product takes some getting used to. It's a relatively new concept, at least to me, with a choice of three flows in one nipple. The baby got a bit more air initially, but once I got used to it she was fine. I like this system better than the conventional bottles for my baby. I am also nursing and the baby had no trouble going to this nipple.

The Avent Naturally Variable Flow Silicone Nipples worked really swell. My granddaughter took to it and did not want to take any other nipple. Keep up the good work.

I truly love this product. Actually, there is nothing I disliked about it. It's the best bottle nipple that my child has used. I just purchased more because they are easy for my child, and she is absolutely getting all the milk she needs. There are some bottle nipples that have very poor milk flow, and this, in general, is the best I've seen. I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know.

I didn't like that you had to buy a special bottle for the nipple to be used. Other than that, the nipple worked wonderfully and my four-month-old son had no feeding problems with this nipple. It's because he was breast-fed and this nipple mimics a breast's nipple.

These nipples are inconvenient because they only fit into special bottles. Other products are universal. I really wouldn't recommend them to anyone because of that. The product is more expensive to maintain, and is really not any better than the less expensive brands.
