I've been using more natural products and when my stylist said my hair needed more protein, I decided to try this shampoo. It's really made a difference, and I can say it's one of the best shampoos I've ever used! I tried it first with just a small amount of Giovanni's 2chic leave in conditioner, which I rinsed out so I could mainly test the shampoo. It has a nice creamy lather, light fragrance, and rinses clean. Even without other products, like gel or mousse, my normally dry hair is smooth and shiny afterward. Looking forward to trying other Giovanni products!

I loved the scent of this shampoo and how easy it was to get a good lather, but the lathering chemicals it contains are too similar to sodium laureth sulfate and made my scalp itchy and dry afterwards. Same happened to my husband. My hair felt fine afterward, although I always use conditioner and products in it anyways. I would recommend this shampoo if you don't normally have any issues with dry scalp. I liked everything else about it and wished I could have continued to use it.

I have been buying Giovanni because it's cruelty-free and doesn't stink, but the packaging is ridiculous and products are just so-so. I admire the effort to provide a tube the reseals and doesn't leak all over the shower. Really. I do. But when it takes both hands to wrench the top off, I'm annoyed. When I then realize that I have a handful of shampoo and can neither close the stupid thing nor set it down because it will leak shampoo through the opening, well, be glad you weren't there. I've struggled through a whole tube of it, but never again. This lid is so difficult to snap closed that I do by putting up against the shower wall and *leaning* on it. It's ridiculous. The answer is to just screw it on and off. Again...it's a bunch of fun to screw it back on with shampoo in your hand (I mix it with blue shampoo, so need to keep it in my hand...I'm not completely silly), or even just soapy hands. Like the other Giovanni products, it works ok. It cleans my hair. It doesn't make it smoother or more manageable; it just cleans it.

I was hopeful that this would be safe to use in my hair. The ingredients are good, but it's just too heavy. When I wash with it my hair falls out in clumps! I need a lighter shampoo - I'm going back to MillCreek's Biotin shampoo which is not heavy and never makes my hair fall out.
I am going to continue to use Giovanni's conditioners on my ends, but for my scalp I need a lighter shampoo that's not going to make my hair fall out!
