I had seen ads for other brands of these crystals, but really like my bed linens & bedroom to smell like lavender as it's so soothing to fall asleep to. These crystals from Purex not only scent your laundry like lavender, I had a set of sheets I had washed two weeks prior in a drawer, when I put them on my bed I still could smell the lavender scent- not in an overpowering way- just enough to enjoy. I highly recommend these crystals.
I tried this product after I had tried Downy Unstopables. The amount of product (28oz) for comparably, the same price as Downy. Thinking I was getting a bargain. However, the scent was not as pleasant as Downy (Lush). It smelled strangely familiar and came to realize it smelled at lot like cough medicine. To me it did. I went back to Downy, even though you get less product for the amount of money. I suppose if I hadn't already tried the Downy this would have been OK.
This stuff is meant to scent your laundry. It isn't a fabric softener/static eliminator. All it does is smell awesome. Whenever I use it, my clothes and sheets smell wonderful for at least a few weeks.
