My dermatologist turned me on to this when I was taking Accutane for my acne and had EXTREMELY dry skin, especially on my lips. It was the only thing that helped the discomfort of my dry, chapped lips and skin. Now my skin is not as dry, but every night I put it on my hands, feet, and lips before I go to bed. My hands and feet are quite soft, thanks to it. I am also a Registered Nurse, and it works perfectly after a long day of hand-washing. It is very thick and greasy, but it works.

Years ago, a dermatologist told me to try Aquaphor because the tip of my nose was peeling from allergies/sniffles/colds. Not very attractive, to say the least. Nothing was working and AQUAPHOR was the ONLY PRODUCT THAT CAME TO MY RESCUE! I use it daily as a lip treatment and ALWAYS at bedtime. As a hand-softener, try overnight use -- sleep with the light cotton gloves /drug stores sell 'em, (or loose socks) on your hands (or a zip lock plastic bag on each hand as a mitt), because as you sleep, the heat from the gloves/bag will give you a hand-softening "spa treatment". You will DEFINITELY see a difference. OR try an hour, and see results. I also have AQUAPHOR in the larger tub size. Remember, don't GLOB ON A TON; you need to massage the product into your skin. Finger tips ever crack? Use this product. Also great to send to U.S. Soldiers in Iraq in 120 degree heat/dust storms = DRY SKIN.

This is the worst stuff I've ever used. I would have been better off rubbing petroleum jelly on myself. It was a greasy mess. I can see maybe using it on chapped lips, but my money is spent better elsewhere. It didn't improve my dry skin either. It just stuck to everything.

A must have!!! Use it for absurdly dry patches, skin irritations, and chapped lips. It absorbs really quickly, and is completely worth it. Our doctor recommended it for my little brother's extremely dry, chapped, and irritated skin, and it has worked wonders. Heals dryness magically. The best weapon for skin!

This is a miracle in a tube! I slather it on my 1-year-old's chapped winter cheeks and nose for almost instant healing. I put it on my hands and feet at night, and they are soft by morning! Heals dry chapped lips- I even use it under lipstick. Can't say enough! Have a big jar in the nursery and another at my bedside. I have a tube at my son's daycare also. His teachers all love it too. I am a nurse and I use it on many of my patients; it's especially helpful on those with heart failure whose leg skin is very dry from being swollen and stretched. Thumbs way up!

I used this on my daughter during the winter months. She's a thumb-sucker, and developed severely dry skin around her mouth and on the hand of the thumb she favors. I tried Eucerin lotion, but it didn't help much. Then I tried Aquaphor one night, and the next morning, her skin was 98% better. It feels thick and greasy to the touch, like petroleum jelly, but is absorbed by the skin with no greasy feel. Its a wonderful product and I have recommended it to many people.

Aquaphor Healing Ointment did a pretty good job of clearing up some minor skin irritations that I had. This product is along the same lines as Bag Balm, but it isn't as greasy and oily. Comparing the two, I'd say that they rank about the same, although I'd definitely prefer Aquaphor to Bag Balm any day, because it's odorless, colorless, and not as messy as some other healing ointments.

This ointment is for seriously dry skin, which my 2-year-old daughter has. My pediatrician recommended it. It absolutely helps with dry skin but be forewarned that it's very thick, much like petroleum jelly. It's not, however, oily. If a friend or family member had very dry skin I'd recommend it -- but not as an everyday body lotion.
