This is an important product for me that I can no longer find in local stores. Nature Made is the only brand I've found that's effective on leveling my mood. This version of 450mgs means that I only have to take one a day. Well worth buying.

I used to be snappy with my kids and stressed about the smallest things. I started to take St Johns wort and I can now deal with my children with more patience and everything doesn't seem like doom day is happening. I call these my happy pills because there are more smiles on my face since I have found these. I also like the fact that I don't need to take them more than once a day. I have used this particular brand and dose of St. John's Wort for several years. I am a huge fan. Prior to starting this regimen I felt edgy sometimes, and prone to being annoyed easily. Since taking this supplement, I am much more able to manage life's little ups and downs evenly. I will say that I take TWO of the 450 mg. cpasules every morning, and it works for me. My information tells me that I need that much for a therapeutic effect. The one side-effect that I am aware of that has applied to me is that when I have an occassion to bleed - cut, scrape, nick when shaving, monthly cycle - St. John's Wort may be causing increasing bleeding. Other than that, it's all good for me personally.

I love that you only need 2 a day of these, because who can remember to take something 3 times a day of anything to be effective? I would have to say that I've noticed a difference; however, we are using them in conjuntion with the Sam-e mood, liver and joint supplements and also a small dose of Wellbutrin, so I'm not sure which of those is doing the most or just all of them together. However, I like the fact that we are able to use a small dose of the prescription stuff and then supplement with natural herbs and vitamins.

This brand is ineffective. I had been using other 3-times-a-day brands to great effect for over 10 years. I've tested various brands on-and-off and realize using St. John's Wort works well for maintaining mood. This Nature Made 1-Dose is noticeably ineffective. My mood was going down after about 10 days and I finally figured out it was because I had changed to this product. Within 2 days of going back to another 500mg 3x product, my mild depression lifted. If you are using another product that works for you, stick with it.

I've been on this for more than a year and it has been beneficial in my quest for relief from depression. Because of the subtle effects St. Johns Wort is known for, I did not notice a change until I had been taking this for a month so if you're looking for a quick fix then this isn't the product for you. What really attracted me to this particular item was the fact that I could take it once a day rather than 3 times daily with the regular version. I had been on the regular St. Johns Wort before this and had trouble taking it. I kept missing doses so I switched to this instead and I am happy with it. Its a great product and I highly recommend it.
