Am I the only person that has experienced Butane leak with this product here? I took this curler with me during a 3-day trip in my backpack. I first noticed the smell in the subway. I then hurried out of a crowded train to figure out what was happening. The curler had switched on by itself. I switched it to OFF position. Later on it happened AGAIN! I did not even get to use the curler yet and it was causing me all these problems. I can still smell that awful rotten smell (at least it served the purpose and did cause an explosion). After a whole day of ordeal I threw it out. Not the most environmentally friendly thing to do and I regret it but I could not carry that curler with me any longer. There is not a feature to lock the switch to OFF position. It is just awful. Perhaps I got a defective item. Contacted Drugstore and have not heard back. What a shame....

I loved this curling iron; however, when I saw that it came with a butane cartridge, I knew it could never take it in my carry on luggage on the plane. So, unfortunately, I returned it.

I keep this curling iron in my desk at work and fix my hair when I get there, if I'm running late. It gets really hot and works so well! The only downside is buying the replacement butane cartridges. I'd say each one lasts for about 25 uses.
