I've been using these for over 5 years, and I can't imagine going back to tampons or pads. They are so easy to use once you get the hang of them, they don't carry the risk of TSS, and they don't smell wrong! Sure, periods are messy - there's no getting around that. The Softcup can't avoid that, but it's just as messy as a tampon without the icky string that goes everywhere.
The trick to removing them is to EXHALE as you reach in to grab it. If you breathe out, it's easy to reach because you're relaxed. If you can't reach it, that's because you're too tense. Take a few deep breaths and exhale slowly. That's all you need to know!

Does *not* work with my tilted uterus. At least so far. This is buried in their faqs...actually says if you have a tilted uterus it "may or may not work" and to bring it to your gynecologist to discuss fitting. (???!!!)

I love this product. I was an early adopter; I got a free coupon in the mail when the product was first introduced ~20 years ago. I still have the unused package of tampons that I owned at the time — at the back of the cupboard. After trying Instead, I couldn't go back to tampons (and regular pads — absolutely no way). Instead works for me; from light days through to menorrhagia days.

This is an amazing product. It makes you forget that you are on your cycle. It is a bit messy, but cheaper and more comfortable than tampons or pads. I have gone camping, hiking, swimming, horseback riding, and even scuba diving with no leaks of any kind.

I am so upset I didn't try menstrual cups sooner! I wanted to get a diva cup, but before I invested in one, I wanted to try soft cups just to get a feel for wearing a cup. I'm in love with it! They're so comfortable and discreet. I honestly forget that I even have anything in. I love them way more than tampons. I always felt the tampon getting stuck inside and it caused this gritty feeling but this is non existent with the soft cup. Definitely recommend!

This thing is a god gift for me, I have a very heavy period It used to be a mess since I remember, sleeping at night was a nightmare!! I even try tampon and 2 long pads so it will not leaks.
Then I try Softcup..never again.. all my problem was gone.
For all ladies that leak..here is what I do..for me I "dump it" every 2 hours( you have to feel yourself 3-4 hours? maybe)...and no mess!! I just go in bathroom sit on the toilet and then lean over a little bit then push( like you want to fart) most of the blood will come out, push 3-4 time until no blood came. No need to take the Softcup out, just wipe it with toilet paper and you are done. No mess!
And how to put it in..I just used my middle finger push it until my finger hit the bone. If the Softcup sit after the bone it is not leak and it is in the right position.
Take it out...sit on the toilet then used your middle finger pull it out, sometime the blood will spill out fast so I used my palm position to block it. It will be a mess now but when I take it out, I'm home. So all day It will not leak, no need to take it out wait until you got home then change for the new one.

I had high hopes for this product. It looks very similar to a diaphragm, which I use on a regular basis. I bought several boxes of Soft Cups over several months. No matter what I did, I always leaked on heavy days. No, my period is not abnormally heavy. Yes, I've watched the video on how to use the cups. The concept is great, and clearly it works for a lot of women. I guess I'm the exception. It's back to tampons for me.

Now that I'm in my 30s my periods have lightened and shortened, so I figured it was time to look into alternatives to tampons, because they are so expensive and pretty gross. I remembered Softcup from when I was in middle school (then called 'Instead') and decided to give them a try again. AWESOME!!! There is a definite learning curve, and its probably a good idea to be familiar with your woman parts beforehand, but if you can master them you'll be very happy I did. I've seen a lot of reviews saying they are best for lighter days as they may leak, and I've seen a lot that say the opposite. I haven't a clue about this as even my heaviest days are much lighter than they used to be, but I imagine if you have it in correctly it will not leak. If leakage is a concern you can always check the cup and put it back in.

Also, I have discovered that the reusable version of the Softcup can be washed and stored instead of thrown out, making it even more economical. I have heard of people reusing the disposables as well, and I personally use the same cup for my entire cycle rather than using a new one every 12 hours, so an entire box of 24 can last me for up to 2 years, which is a steal! Easy and cheap. My 2 favorite things!

They can take a little getting used to and have to be inserted perfectly on heavy days or you might leak a little but otherwise they are amazing! I would never go back to pads or tampons after discovering the instead cups! I have converted several friends who are all regular users now.

I love the fact that this product doesn't dry me out like traditional tampons and pads do, for me these are non irritating. I have sensitive skin and the tampons and strings irritate and I become dry and itchy, not so much with the Softcups. On my heavy days, I have to be careful as they are a little messy, built willing to put up with it for the comfort of not having itchy, irritated lady parts!!!
