This is the greatest thing ever invented! No more feeling like I am wearing a diaper! The one drawback is public restrooms... I dont like to mess with the cup in a public restroom... Your hands do get messy... Doing up your pants and opening a stall door with... Well you get the picture..! But for home use its TOPS!

First of all, I cannot believe that no one has mentioned how to dispose of these without a mess! I actually read about it in a review myself. You can remove the instead without getting any blood on your hands or anywhere else. All you do is put a sandwich baggie (I use the kind without ziplocks) inside out over your hand and remove as you would normally. As you pull it out, pull the baggie right side out. Your hand remains clean, the cup and contents are now inside the baggie. I wrap that in TP and/or paper towel and throw it away. Seriously, try it! Until I learned this technique, I was only so-so on the instead, now I love them. I've been using them for over 10 years. I first tried it when I was an assistant and could not excuse myself to the bathroom for long stretches. This solved the problem of worrying about tampons getting too full or staying in too long. When I don't have cramps, I can forget I have my period. I have used them during sex during my period to keep things cleaner too. Works great. People also use them when trying to get pregnant to keep the swimmers up near the cervix after sex. Can't say for myself, but some swear by it.

I've been using Instead for almost 10 years. This is my go-to feminine product. It took me a few monthly cycles to get the positioning perfect, but it's WELL worth the learning curve. Tampons now seem barbaric.

I really wanted to love these. They seemed like a great alternative to tampons, without being as expensive as a silicone menstrual cup. Unfortunately, Instead is just not for me. I suspect I'm just too petite for this one-size-fits-all product. As some other smaller-sized reviewers mention, when inserted correctly to catch the flow, on a very petite woman the Instead cup may be too long to stay all the way inside (which = leaks). Also, the stiffness of the plastic rim, the crinkliness of the cup, and the suction the product forms were all very uncomfortable for me, especially during insertion and removal. I went back to tampons for many months, but now I've ordered a small reusable silicone menstrual cup, and I have very high hopes for it. By the way, YouTube has some very informative videos about the Instead cup (as well as reusable menstrual cups), including how to properly insert and dispose of them, since these can be tricky. Good luck and hope they work better for you!

So comfy, you forget that you're menstruating...cups can be messy at removal, so make sure that you have TP at the ready! I will never, ever go back to tampons!

Adjustment includes just how to get it in, and on what days to use it, but I'm very pleased with the product. Best for mid to light days, but makes me forget my period. Very very slight pressure feeling is easy to get used to, but feels better than a tampon. There's definitely a trick to getting it out without making a mess, but the benefits outweigh the downsides.

Why don't we hear about Instead more often? At the risk of giving TMI, this little device is great for allowing you to have sex during your period without a big mess (that is, until you take it out!) Of course, if you're one of those women who uses the excuse, "Not tonight, honey, I'm on my period," then don't let your husband/boyfriend find out about Instead!

The things that are great about insteade are that, it does not stick to my skin and rip it off when I pull it out, It does not contain bleach like tampons and it works well ALL the time.

These are safer than tampons and provide the same or better protection. I am glad I discovered this product and for the price. I pay over 10.00 at the store and pharmacy for these and there are only 12 in a pkg. Great find.
