I purchased two of these mats at the recommendation of my daughter, who bought some recently. We both have dogs & therefore always battle the tracking in of dirt & water from outside. These mats are amazing when placed right inside the doors! They very quickly absorb water from shoes or paws, & also any dirt on them. I have my dogs stop briefly on the rug before proceeding on into the house, & the water & dirt inside has markedly reduced! Care is also easy; just shake out the dirt regularly & occasionally wash in the washer---cool water, gentle cycle, & NO DETERGENT. I then hang outside until dry. Please notice the instructions say to do this before using the first time to fully utilize the rug's qualities. The rug is varying shades of brown, which not only hides dirt but also fits my earthtone decor. It is a low "nap", also, which doesn't interfere with the opening or closing of the doors. I highly recommend this rug!
