To prevent injury ear plugs should not be worn for prolonged underwater swimming and never at depths below 8 feet of water. Improper fit will reduce its effectiveness in attenuating noise as well as keeping water out of the ears. Keep away from infants and small children, may interfere with breathing if caught in windpipe, which could lead to serious injury or death. Product should not be used if user has tubes in their ear or if ears are draining. The level of noise entering a person's ear, when hearing protector is worn as directed, is closely approximated by the difference between the A weighted environmental noise level and the NRR. EXAMPLE: (1) The environmental noise level as measured at the ear is 92 dBA. (2) The NRR is 27 decibels (dB). (3) The level of noise entering the ear is approximately equal to 65 dBA. CAUTION: For noise environments dominated by frequencies below 500 Hz the C weighted environmental noise level should be used. Improper fit of this device will reduce its effectiveness in attenuating noise. Consult directions for proper fit. Although hearing protectors can be recommended for protection against the harmful effects of impulsive noise, the Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is based on the attenuation of continuous noise and may not be an accurate indicator of the protection attainable against impulsive noise such as gunfire..

I was lucky (cough) to get new neighbors who have no consideration for others. I had been battling with my sleep being regularly interrupted by noise for some time, when I finally purchased these ear plugs. I couldn't be happier. They have literally saved my sanity. They work extremely well and are comfortable enough for sleep. I highly recommend them for anyone who has similar trouble with noise distractions.

I am an avid surfer and have been using rubber earplugs for decades. Unfortunately these have become impossible to find at the brick and mortar drug stores these days. I am very happy to report that these were just what I expected and work great.
