I have a newborn who becomes congested especially when the heat comes up. So far this unit is working out nicely. I have not yet tried all the features - but i look forward to it. I dont think its loud but i find the white noise soothing and it doesnt seem to bother my daughter.

Puts out a lot of 'white dust' because the control won't go low enough. But, works very well and easier to clean than others I've had.

This can work very well with some cautions--it is fairly temperamental. I am on my second unit, and I learned a few helpful hints. If it stops working: Like some other users, I had this problem. First, the poor design makes it difficult to clean without damaging the water sensor and, per the instructions, any time you accidentally touch parts of the interior, the humidifier might stop working because of oils on your skin (I believe this is what happened). Another reason: if you remove the water tank and the base is practically full, it can't push the water up far enough to make the mist. I don't know why this happens, but if you empty the base and make sure the tank cap is screwed on tight, it might start again. I finally gave up and ditched my first unit, but I liked its maintenance-free properties and mist production so well that I decided to buy another unit. Realizing that I would probably never really follow the maintenance instructions, I decided to use only bottled distilled water in the unit. What a difference. It stays so clean that I clean it far less frequently and have less opportunity to damage it. It's also way easier to clean. Toting bottles of the distilled water up to the 3rd floor of my house is a bummer, but it still beats driving all over creation to find a filter. Finally, the noise problem: I bought a thick rubber mat from a home improvement store, the kind that goes under large appliances such as refrigerators. I used a craft knife to cut it to the shape of the humidifier, and it really deadens the noise--two work even better.

This is a great humidifier and totally worth the money. Its very quite and super easy to clean, and there are also NO filters to keep replacing. It kept my daughters room balmy and comfortable all winter long! I will definitely be purchasing another!

This is really a nice item, but it's a little on the expensive side and it makes too much noise to let you sleep with it near you. You also have to be careful that you don't spill water on the furniture.

Although these vaporizers work well for increasing humidity, they are very loud on the medium and high settings. The major problem is that blue plastic water tank is very fragile. If you are refilling it in the bathtub and happen to drop it, even from two feet high, it will break.
